Your hire includes:
- Kilt: Booking your first kilt hire is hassle-free with Kiltsforhire. Enjoy a heavyweight, quality 8-yard tartan kilt.
- Jacket: Choose from our wide range of super lightweight, breathable tweed or black jackets.
- Sporran: A genuine, high-quality animal fur sporran with chain straps.
- Accessories: Leather belt and metal buckle, shirt, socks, cufflinks, Kilt pin, Sgian Dubh, and flashes & Ghillie brogues.
The complete kilt outfit can be customized to your liking. If you're unsure about styling, our experts are ready to offer great advice on what items complement each other. Additionally, if you're shopping online, you can find tartan styling notes under the product images on our website.

We offer a long hires for those who are possibly travelling for an event and last minute hires for those last minute special events you cant miss out on.
Types of kilt hire packages we offer-
Special Range Kilt Packs:
In our special kilt packs, you have the choice of 50 tartans and 12 jacket styles in 5 colourways. This range accommodates sizes from 34'' to 64'' chest and 28'' to 62'' waists. A special range kilt pack has a base price of £120 - £150 depending on the tartan, with options for hire pack upgrades and specialist jacket upgrades.
Included in the Special Kilt Packs:
A Lightweight Prince Charlie jackets in Black or Navy with a 3-button waistcoat, or Black / Navy Argyle Braemar jackets with a 5-button waistcoat.
A White shirt, classic Black bow/ruche tie.
A Quality dress or semi-dress sporran in Black Sealskin.
Kilt pin, belt & buckle, cufflinks, socks in Black/Navy/Grey, flashes, Sgian Dubh, & ghillie brogue shoes.
Upgrades Available:
- Black shirts: +£5

Exclusive Hire Range Kilt Packs:
Our exclusive hire kilt packs are the most comprehensive, offering 75 tartans and 30 styles of jackets in 12 colourway's, starting at a base price of £180. They accommodate sizes up to 62'' chest and waists between 18'' and 46'', with boys' sizes also available.
What’s Included in the Exclusive Hire Kilt Packs:
- A Lightweight Argyle/Braemar in navy or black with shiny or antique buttons, or tweed jackets in silver/navy with black imitation buttons, mid grey with imitation stag/shiny/antique buttons, and black Sherrifmuir or Prince Charlie in black/navy with various button finishes. Dark navy waistcoat and jacket variations are also available.
- Matching shiny accessories, sealskin sporran, belt & buckle, chain straps, kilt & kilt pin, Sgian Dubh, socks in navy/black/silver/off-white, flashes, any shirt, any ties, and cufflinks.
Specialist Upgrades:
For an additional £50, you can upgrade to our specialist contemporary fashion and classic jackets:
Crail jacket:
- Silver Grey Arrochar tweed with a 2-button front and 5 antique button waistcoat
- Charcoal/Navy tweed with a 2-button front and 5 imitation stag button waistcoat
- Mid Grey barathea with a 2-button front and 5 shiny button waistcoat
- Green lovat tweed and Dark Green tweed with a 2-button front and 5 imitation stag button waistcoat
Braemar:
- Black herringbone tweed with a 2-button front and 5 imitation stag button waistcoat
- Navy midnight with Black buttons
Sherrifmuir: - Light Grey or French Navy barathea with a 5 shiny button waistcoat
Prince Charlie: - Charcoal Grey tweed with a 3 shiny button waistcoat
(Additionally, you can add shoulder plaids and brooches for £25.)

Budget kilt hire (Corporate events only)-
This kilt package is our lowest cost at £90 for corporate events only, everything is still included we have choice of the tartan for your kilt based on stock levels hence the heavier discount. Please note this type of kilt hire needs to be booked minimum of 4 weeks in advance, and for sizes between 34''- 56'' chest & 28''- 50'' waists.
This hire package includes:
A black Prince Charlie super lightweight jacket with silver 3 button waistcoat.
A Black dress seal sporran & chain straps
A white shite, black bowtie or rushe, black socks & pair of flashes
A Kilt pin , Sgian Dubh & Ghillie brogues
A quality tartan kilt of our choice this means based on stock we will select your tartan but rest assured we only carry the best quality tartans.
Hire any tartan-
Let's break it down, we offer you over 150 tartans all at a set starting price of £325 for hire. What tartan can I wear? Your hire includes everything you could need for the big day. Your hire will include the tartan kilt, jacket & waistcoat, shirt, cufflinks, tie, chain straps, sporran, socks, shoes, flashes, Sgian Dubh, kilt pin, belt & buckle and plaid (traditionally for grooms only). We recommend if you're considering this offer booking 6-12 months in advance, we offer express and long hires at an additional cost.
In the hire any tartan offer , we are making you a brand new kilt to your measurements. It's 6 yard 2.7 metre double width 16 oz Teflon coated stain proof kilt. It comes with all the rest of the accessories up to the value of £80 with optional upgrades. If you wish to keep and own the kilt you can pay £100 extra and just hire the rest of the outfit. So you will have bought the kilt for £425 and free hired the accessories. You can customise the cloth weight , kilt finishing for an additional fee.
Although the hire price is set from £325, there is room for upgrades within the customisation of your kilt pack items. You can also upgrade for an extra £100 to keep the kilt and just hire the rest of the outfit. This works out as great value for money.
Why upgrade and keep the kilt?-
Having your own kilt in whatever tartan you chose can be extremely sentimental and bring a sense of heritage and historical connection. Kilts can be seen passed down through generation to generation as family heirlooms. This is why hiring the accessories and buying the kilt is a great value for money offer, you can keep the kilt it's yours to own for a set price from £425 (£325 hire + £100 extra to keep the kilt) , our kilts are made to last a lifetime with proper care.
6 for 5 on selected tartans-
We offer a party discount for groups of six on a selection of 20 tartans, including our exclusive Bute Heather collection. When you book six hires, you will receive the sixth hire free, providing a discount of up to £180.
The discount can be applied as one free hire or deducted from the overall cost of the party booking.
For example:
- 5 kilt packs at £110 each = £550 + 1 free hire = 6 kilts for the price of 5 (£550)
- 6 kilt packs at £110 each = £660 - 1 free hire (£110) = £550, making it £91.66 per kilt
*Please note that to qualify for the party booking discount, all hires must be booked together, with a deposit paid at the same time, using the qualifying tartans.

If your looking to be a little more sustainable and considering buying a kilt to own we also offer made to order kilts. Although kilt hire is the most sustainable service and product we offer, made to order kilts are also great as investment pieces as you can wear your kilt to multiple functions throughout your lifetime, keep it as a memento of a special occasion or pass it down your family.
