Details for booking -
In store we will take all your details and get all the names and contact information for each hire along with the function date & collection date. online we will request the same information and reach out to confirm all details given.
We offer a range of different hire for long distance hire , last minute & long hires.

How much notice do I need to book a hire ?

When booking hires you want to book as far in advance as you can , we recommend for anyone and any party size to book approximately 6 - 12 months in advance. This ensures your widest range of highland wear to hire in your sizes.

Why book so early? - This is crucial for large parties and all hires as there is peak wedding seasons and availability of stock is based off demand , the busier the season the less available.

Typically we will measure you or if booking online ask for some self measurements for your hire and then do a remeasure to check your sizes again for the hire 4-6 weeks before due to weight fluctuation.

We offer many different types of hire and have lots of hire guides available here to read .

You can also hire individual highland wear items if you don't need the whole kilt pack.

What about last minute hires ?

We understand its not always possible to prebook your hire 6 months in advance and we do offer last minute hires. when booking a last minute kilt hire we can turn around kilt hire packs same day if possible.

we will still always recommend booking 6-12 months in advance if possible.

Due to the nature of a last minute hire depending of availability during wedding season, we cant always guarantee your top choice and will give you options based on what we have available in your particular sizes.

Super express hires can be turned around in as little as an hour and we have an inhouse alterations team who can alter your hire for you free of charge.

Kilts for hire also known as Houston kiltmakers we have our shop located 5 minute drive from Glasgow airport or about 15 minutes from Glasgow city centre and are open 9am- 5:30pm Monday to Friday and Saturday 9am- 5pm.

long & international hires -

Hires are priced based on how long you have the stock. This is what effects availability, so typically you would pick up your hire a few days before and return the next working day after the function so we can dry clean our stock and be able to hire it out again but this isn't always possible.

Long hires are priced based on how long you have the stock for and is slightly hire than usual but we can ship & post your hire straight to your front door or venue in plenty of time.

Everything is still included and works like normal you just have the stock for longer if local you can bring us your hire on the agreed return date and if international it would be posted back to us.

We hope this guide has been useful in understanding the booking and notice period of kilt hire & simplifies the process. If you have any questions on kilt hire , brochures , hire arrangements feel free to contact us at shop@kiltmakers.com or call us on 0141 889 4879.
