MacLauchlan Red Tartan is a blue-based tartan with a bright red overcheck. This ancient clan possessed Strathlachlan, Argyllshire, in the 11th century. Gillespie MacLachlan was a member of King Robert the Bruce's first parliament in St Andrews in 1308. During the 1745 Jacobite Rising, the chief led his clan to join Prince Charlie's army. Sept matches include MacLachlan.
